Born in the Greenbush neighborhood of Madison, Wisconsin, Diane Amato moved to San Francisco in the 70s to pursue a career in Costume Design.
She recently published a book entitled ‘ALL THE NEWS FROM HOME’ about her parents George and Joan Amato and their WWII experience. The book features government issued VMail letters written to Sergeant Amato from 1942-1945 from his family and friends back in the ‘bush. Many of the family names mentioned in the letters are descendants of present day Madison.
Come hear Diane read some of her favorite letters about the good old days in the beloved Greenbush neighborhood. There will be a short Q&A afterwards. Free.
