Food Pantry

The walk-in food pantry is open on:

  • Tuesdays 4 – 7 pm
  • Wednesdays 12 – 2 pm
  • Wednesdays 4 -7 pm
  • Thursdays 12 – 2 pm
  • Thursdays 4 -7 pm

The pantry is open to all in need and does not require proof of income or local address.

Law Clinic

Neighborhood House offers a monthly free legal aid clinic. Appointments are available with lawyers from Community Justice Inc. on civil issues such as family law, tenant/landlord disputes, government benefits, civil rights, small claims, etc.

Meals

We offer monthly take and bake pasta meals. All meals are free of charge and open to all.  For more information about the next community meal and to sign-up click here

We also offer weekly in-person, hot meals on Wednesday afternoons from 12-2pm.

Meeting Space

We offer one time and recurring meeting space rentals for individuals and community groups.

Resource Navigation

Staff help with: food, mental health, childcare, transportation, clothing, employment, and more.

Appointments available to work with a social worker to connect with resources in Madison.

First and third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 – 7:30pm.

Appointments are limited to 20 minutes. Schedule an in-person, phone, or virtual appointment here.

Sunshine Line

Call our non-emergency Sunshine Line Monday – Friday 10am – 1pm and Monday 6-8pm. Speak with a friendly voice to relieve stress, vent frustrations, or get words of encouragement!

Call 608-255-5337 and ask for the Sunshine Line.

Technology Lab

Open Technology Lab:

Mondays and Fridays from 11am – 1pm. Printing, internet use, and other basic computer functions are available.

Transportation Assistance

This program provides bus passes or gas cards to individuals in need of transportation assistance for work, school, medical visits, food access, and childcare. Assistance is provided in the form of bus passes or gas cards.
 
Neighborhood House distributes bus passes and gas cards four times per year.
 
Gas cards and bus passes can be picked up at Neighborhood House when they are available or will be mailed to the address provided in the application once approved.

Seasonal Services

School Supply Drive

Every summer, Neighborhood House collects school supplies and distributes them to children and families.

We collect year-round for our School Supply Drive and distribute the materials at the end of August.

If you would like to collect or sign up to receive items, please sign up here.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each fall we partner with UnityPoint Health – Meriter and other organizations to create and distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving baskets.

Families that would like to receive a basket must sign up each year, and may not pick up baskets for other individuals.

Winter Wear

Neighborhood House distributes hundreds of winter items including hats, gloves, coats, boots, snow pants, and scarves.

Holiday Toy Drive

Help Neighborhood House spread cheer and joy by collecting new gifts for children and families throughout the holiday season.
